Bamburgh, Northumberland

North East

At the heart of the Northumberland Coast AONB are the three parishes of Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell. The national landscape designation is testimony to the amazing quality of the landscape and the unrivalled wealth of natural, historical and cultural sites of the area such as Bamburgh Castle, the Farne Islands and Long Nanny Burn.

The Coastal Community Team is a partnership of the three parishes of Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell, local businesses, Northumberland County Council, Active Northumberland, Northumberland Tourism and is led by staff from the Northumberland Coast AONB Partnership. The team will use the emerging three parishes’ neighbourhood plan to help inform and underpin its work. It is the ambition of the team to lengthen the tourism season into the shoulder months or all year-round, utilise and consolidate existing facilities and sustainably strengthen the offer. The aim is to support existing business to unlock their full potential whilst encouraging residents and visitors alike to appreciate how truly special and wonderful the area is.

Our vision is for “A thriving living landscape with a bright and beautiful future”.
