The National Lobster Hatchery Round 1 (early) Based in Padstow, Cornwall the National Lobster Hatchery (NLH) works to maintain and develop outputs of stock enhancement, research and educate the commercial special of the European Lobster. Along with these activities, it runs a visitor centre on the Padstow quayside, which promotes the importance of sustainability and responsible marine management. This project aims to facilitate the expansion and growth of the organisation through further developing its social enterprise model. £150,528 Cornwall
Suffolk County Council Round 1 (early) The project aims to create employer-led apprenticeships relevant to the low carbon energy sector in the coastal communities of Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex, plus an awareness-raising campaign to ensure that the opportunities in this emergent sector are visible and accessible to local people of all ages. Considerable growth is predicted on the East of England coast in off-shore wind and nuclear, along with skills gaps in a range of engineering-related disciplines. £700,000 Ipswich
Bournemouth Borough Council Round 1 (early) Bournemouth Borough Council, in partnership with the Bournemouth Tourism Management Board and Bournemouth University, will create Europe's first National Coastal Tourism Academy (NCTA). The Academy will offer blended learning to support coastal tourism businesses through virtual and personal business guidance, a resort wide customer care programme, and a coastal tourism research and development. £2,000,000 Bournemouth
Blyth Harbour Commission Round 1 This project is a partnership of the Port of Blyth, Blyth Tall Ships and Newcastle University, it is part of a project that takes a new approach to sustainable community and business regeneration, and skills development. Located at Blyth Port, Northumberland, their goal is to redevelop an area of the quay to establish a community asset and a regional coastal hub for trade, employment, skills and maritime heritage. £500,000 Northumberland
Clevedon Pier and Heritage Trust Ltd Round 1 This project’s focus is on enhancing the appeal of the seafront to support tourism and retain its heritage and will create jobs and volunteering opportunities, increase visitors and enhance the visitor experience by: - creating an a visitor centre ( comprising of a multi-purpose meeting room, cafe, toilets and storage) - renovating the Toll House to provide ticketing, retail and interpretive exhibitions - adapting the Heritage Centre to create staff accommodation, a base for volunteers, a meeting room, community archive and create an upgraded workspace unit on the first floor. £500,000 North Somerset
Friends of the Folkestone and Marlowe Academies Round 1 Based in Ramsgate, this project aims to expand the existing Marlowe Innovation Centre (MIC) to provide additional accommodation for small businesses. The centre will house and support small businesses and to provide links between them and the neighbouring Marlowe Academy. The MIC creates a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and also benefits the school through learning different employment related skills and mentoring. £349,724 Thanet
North York Moor Historical Railway Trust Round 1 Based in Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast, this project aims to create jobs and increase tourism by developing the North York Moors heritage railway service. The project will develop Whitby station and will double steam train services linking Whitby to the North York Moors National Park. £1,100,000 Scarborough
Porthleven Regeneration Community Interest Company Round 1 This project takes place in the historic port of Porthleven. The central theme for the activities is 'facilitating new youth employment opportunities by meeting economic and social needs in the town'. These activities will be designed and delivered by a team of young apprentices as follows; creating a social enterprise 'community marquee' hire service, designing and creating a 'Visit Porthleven' website, inspirational lighting project of the historic Bickford Smith Institute and regenerating an area to increase access through additional parking facilities. £99,570 Cornwall
Swanage Railway Company Ltd Round 1 This project will complete the reinstatement of a train service between Wareham and Swanage The Swanage Railway will refurbish that track to a standard that allows a regular passenger train service to run, refurbish four diesel multiple unit vehicles, and build a maintenance depot. The project will result in direct and indirect jobs by increasing the tourist offer in the region. £1,469,000 Purbeck
The Cable and Wireless Porthcurno and Collections Trust Round 1 Based in the St Leven Parish of Cornwall, The Cable and Wireless Porthcurno and Collections Trust's two year capital and revenue project will see the development of the Porthcurno Telegraph Museum to include a Learning Centre, new galleries, visitors centre and cafe. Funding will allow for a Community Learning and Participation Officer to be recruited who will increase volunteering and encourage community involvement. £149,587 Cornwall
The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Trust Round 1 Based at Woody Bay Station, near Barnstaple, Devon this project by the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Trust (L&BR) aims to enhance its existing rolling stock by acquiring a third 'heritage carriage' to be used on its narrow gauge steam railway. The L&BR aspires to restore the whole 19 mile length of original track which is located within the unique landscape of Exmoor National Park. The additional capacity will enable them to increase visitor numbers. £150,000 North Devon
Wadebridge Renewable Energy Network (WREN) Limited Round 1 Situated at the head of the Camel Estuary on the North Cornwall Coast, the project aims to generate 30% of the town's electricity from renewable sources of wind , sun and tidal energy by 2015, generate profits for a co-operatively owned community fund and reduce annual energy spend. It will do this through renewable energy and energy installation, product development and by attracting green tourism. The economic growth benefits will be maintained by becoming a self sustained social enterprise and the establishment of the WREN EcoPark to provide a nucleus for high value employment in the low carbon sector of plans to make Wadebridge Britain's first solar powered town. £100,000 Cornwall

Sunderland City Council Round 1 This public realm and infrastructure improvement project aims to enable the next phase of master planned regeneration of the historic resort of Seaburn. It forms part of the City's seafront regeneration project to reinvigorate Sunderland's twin beach resorts. The project will carry out public realm and infrastructure improvements to enable onward development of a high quality, mixed-use leisure-led development creating a new and vibrant seafront community. £2,000,000 Sunderland
South Hams District Council Round 1 Based in Salcombe, Dartmouth and Brixham, South Devon, this project will improve the infrastructure and business environment of the local fishing industry. There is great potential for economic growth due to high demand for shellfish and under-exploited local resources. This two year project will involve a programme of activities which will include: installing shellfish farming facilities; establishing a retail and visitor facility; researching viable uses for fish waste; providing training opportunities in the fishing sector; and developing local distribution and supply networks. It will create direct and indirect jobs in shellfish farming and processing facilities and through apprenticeship placements. £450,347 South Hams
Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council Round 1 The project seeks to develop a more robust coastal economy by improving the visitor offer, boosting business activity and celebrating and enhancing the landscape and improving access to it. The programme will also help residents gain appropriate skills/experience/qualifications, grow businesses, improve the physical environment and hospitality sector to increase visitor economy and spend, create a visitor centre at South Gare, deliver landscape and nature conservation restoration schemes on former industrial sites, beaches, marshes, woodland and moor, media, arts and events projects celebrating this heritage, the restoration of industrial artefacts related to the iron and steel history, and apprenticeships and direct business support programmes. £580,720 Redcar and Cleveland
Cumbria CC Morecambe Bay Partnership Round 1 Delivered by Morecambe Bay Partnership, the Morecambe Bay Coastal Communities Scheme is a programme designed to stimulate sustainable economic growth through significantly increasing visitor income into the number of areas across Morecambe Bay. Focusing on four clusters around the Bay, it aims to develop a distinctive, yet diverse offer within each cluster. The Scheme will work in co-ordination with other projects being delivered by the Morecambe Bay Partnership. £490,000 South Lakeland

Lincolnshire County Council - Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership Round 1 The project will be delivered along the coastal strip of North East Lincolnshire and Lincolnshire. It is a programme of coastal business modernisation incorporating two distinct elements - the skills to make effective use of smart phones, iPads, websites, online marketing, social media and selling products in a digital format - and 'Retail Rejuvenation' training, one to one support to increase turnover, customer attraction, conversion and retention. £200,000 Lincoln
Scarborough Borough Council Round 1 Delivered in Filey, Scarborough and Whitby this two year capital and revenue project aims to create sustainable economic growth and jobs by taking advantage of two new industries being developed in their area potash mining and Europe's largest offshore wind farm. The area is rich in natural resources that can be exploited to create economic growth. They will use CCF funding to enable local people to secure jobs in the manufacturing, construction, chemical, mining, transport and hotel/catering industries which will all service the two new sectors. £2,599,373 Scarborough
Torbay Council - Torbay Economic Development Company Ltd Round 1 This two year project, delivered throughout Torbay, will stimulate the development of social enterprise, support start up and home based businesses, develop an Asset Based Community Development programme, and create a major new green tourism infrastructure. Key activities for this project include the creation of ‘work hubs’, a new cycling network linking Torbay's key physical and environmental assets, and supporting small employers through contributing to apprentice costs and providing training. £1,385,656 Torbay
Plymouth City Council - Destination Plymouth Ltd Round 1 Regenerating Plymouth’s Waterfront aims to re-enliven and re-focus activity on the waterfront by linking up waterfront areas through new transport options. The project will provide cycle hire hubs and cycle route improvements and will contribute to delivery of the city’s Visitor Plan. £670,400 Plymouth
Hastings Borough Council Round 1 Hastings Borough Council aims to establish a restaurant/food court at Hastings Pier's gateway. The restaurant will provide workplace-based traidning an apprenticeships, which will be made available to all local people and build a pathway into tourism-related vacancies. £1,244,931 Hastings
Alicat Workboats Round 2 Based in Great Yarmouth, this one year project by Alicat Workboats Ltd (AWL) will boost the local economy through construction of an All Weather facility to enable the company to undertake maintenance & construction work all year round. The project will provide AWL with a unique facility on the East Coast and expand their ability to accommodate larger vessels including leisure craft. £165,000 Great Yarmouth
Bridgwater Y.M.C.A. Round 2 YMCA (Bridgwater) will establish a training and skills hotel by refurbishing and transforming the disused Beach Hotel, Minehead into a modern, working hotel offering varied accommodation with multi use space and restaurant provision. It will create new jobs, apprenticeships and traineeships in the Somerset coastal town, improve employment prospects through skills development and training, attract new customers to Minehead and its surroundings, and generate additional expenditure to support sustainable economic growth. £332,300 West Somerset
Essex Wildlife Trust Limited Round 2 This project, based in Walton-on-the-Naze, will create a Visitors‟ Centre at the Naze peninsula on the Essex coast. The Centre will promote the natural environment of this ecologically and historically important coastal area, providing an all year round, non-weather dependent visitor attraction and “Centre of Excellence” delivering educational and other activities leading to increased visitors and stimulating economic growth. It will provide a focal point for visitors, enhanced experiences for all, and improved image of Walton and Tendring District as an all year round visitor destination. £1,145,747  Tendring
Goodwin Development Trust Round 2 This project will boost the local economy of Hull by creating jobs to deliver Pre-Enterprise Support and Enterprise Start Up and Growth advice. The project aims to provide access to outreach services, training opportunities and information by engagement at a series of Hull City Council owned public libraries and business centres. Working with a range of agencies including Job Centre Plus, HMRC, the Council and other local businesses/groups they will support new and existing businesses to create new employment opportunities. £404,188 Kingston upon Hull, City of
Hadlow College Round 2 This project will create a Sustainable Energy Visitor Centre within a development at the former Betteshanger Colliery (formerly Kent's largest). The Centre will showcase sustainable technologies and products, feature a biomass energy complex and celebrate East Kent's coalmining heritage and aims to be the UK/Europe's first fully integrated complex seeking global solutions in ecology, sustainable technologies, water and food security. The Centre will support business development, Research and Development and training at the Enterprise and Education Campus which will be located at an adjacent site. £2,500,000 Tonbridge and Malling
International Boatbuilding Training College (IBTC) Ltd Round 2 This project in Lowestoft will establish a Marine Heritage Hub and Heritage Water Taxi service supporting the preservation of traditional boatbuilding skills across East Anglia and beyond, and help to support conservation of vessels on the National Historic Ships-UK register. The project will restore a heritage vessel to be deployed as a water taxi servicing the Lake. The enhanced facilities will enable delivery of a series of workshops, open days, master classes, training and work placement programmes, pre-apprenticeship training, careers advice all linked to the national Shipshape Network, linking coastal communities & encouraging inter-company trading and migration of skilled workers to help preserve traditional skills/vessels. Improvements to the Boatyards new water taxi will reconnect the community to the waterfront. £624,950 Waveney
RSPB Round 2 This project will enhance the visitor facilities at two Coastal Nature Reserves, RSPB Arne, near Wareham, and RSPB Radipole Lake in central Weymouth. By providing welcoming, all year round accessible venues, the RSPB hope to encourage people to access the natural environment, attract more visitors to the AONB and create employment opportunities. A Community & Volunteering Officer and Partnership Development Officer will work with volunteers and local businesses to provide a range of events, training, skills development and volunteering opportunities which contribute positively to the local economy and encourage preservation of its natural heritage. £650,000 Purbeck
The Carbis Bay Hotel Round 2 The Carbis Bay Hotel Ltd, will deliver the Carbis Bay Regeneration Project and create a multi-use venue comprising interlinked elements all with strong job creation potential. Facilities to be provided include a water-sports centre, conference and wedding venue, restaurant, new training facilities and community hub. £525,000 Cornwall
The Salvation Army Trustee Company Round 2 Building on the legacy of the Olympic Games at the Hadleigh Farm and Country park, the project will involve the construction of a Café and Family Support Centre at the venue which hosted the mountain bike races during the 2012 Olympic Games and which is being refurbished for public use. With legacy support from Essex County Council, the project will equip the café to enable training for unemployed adults with additional needs in a variety of skills including catering, estate management, hospitality, bike maintenance. This expanded catering facility will provide a sustainable resource which supports increased employment opportunities. £170,000 Castle Point
Ventnor Town Council Round 2 Ventnor Town Council will refurbish a Coastal Enterprise Centre currently under-used and poorly maintained. This project will refurbish and reconfigure 14 rooms over four floors to provide space for business start-ups and self employed workers looking to expand their activities. To improve the sustainability of indirect jobs, an in-house advice and signposting function will be provided by the Town Council together with an on-site training suite offering courses and mentoring provided by partner organisations and rooms for hire. £95,000 Isle of Wight
Watergate Developments Limited Round 2 Watergate Developments Limited will develop an area previously used as a dry dock and ship repair yard in Hull. When developed, this area will unlock further development with a key component being a Centre for Digital Innovation which will provide office, work and hot-desk space for existing, maturing and new business. The centre will act as a supporting hub promoting innovation, clustering and skills development of digital enterprises, boosting enterprise in an emerging and important business sector. £300,000 Kingston upon Hull, City of
Arun District Council Round 2 This project will substantially renovate and regenerate the central public realm areas of Bognor Regis, to create a vibrant, modern and attractive seaside town centre which attracts visitors, increases footfall and facilitates, improving the performance of local traders through decreased vacancy rates and improving rentals. £1,649,267 Arun
East Devon District Council Round 2 East Devon Council will help regenerate the town of Seaton by building a visitor attraction using its Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site credentials. The project involves the construction of an interactive visitor centre to tell the story of the Jurassic Coast – England‟s first Natural World Heritage Site. The Centre will be centrally and accessibly located in the middle of Seaton. Once complete, the Centre will also house a café, shop and the Seaton Tourist Information Centre, providing a valuable amenity for local people as well as visitors. The project will also provide enhanced access to the South West Coast Path, the Axe Estuary Wetlands, the Undercliff National Nature Reserve as well as the beach and rockpools on the foreshore. £301,594 East Devon
East Riding of Yorkshire Council Round 2 East Riding's project will reinvigorate the local economy of Bridlington, through a £25million development to create a new Leisure Centre with commercial/retail space, enhanced public realm in central Bridlington and new opportunities for hotel and associated development to restore the fortunes of this traditional seaside resort. Built on a brownfield site, the all-weather leisure space will promote healthy activity, attract new visitors and supports a range of leisure, social and tourist based activities that will extend the tourist season and associated spend within Bridlington. £2,150,000 East Riding of Yorkshire
Lewes District Council Round 2 This project aims to rejuvenate the economy of Newhaven, near Brighton, through a partnership project which will develop linkages between 3 existing facilities on Denton Island on the River Ouse in central Newhaven. The project will provide new Innovation Space at the existing Enterprise Centre, increased Nursery space to support workers within the expanded Centre, construct new training rooms, create a Café allowing additional space for communal networking, meeting and “break out” space, and improve public realm to provide a cohesive image for the activities. The project will improve the physical, economic and governance environment to create a seamless operation area that supports job creation and nurtures potential growth in “clean tech” industries and the local economy. £1,898,951 Lewes
Medway Council Round 2 This project aims to drive the regeneration of Rochester and Chatham High Street by developing business units within existing but currently redundant space at Sun Pier House and The Arches, the area will be provided with incubation space and social enterprise support provision for cultural/ creative industries. The project aims to stimulate activity in the creative arts and provide specialist training for the unemployed through an innovative “Art for Work” programme, providing access to employment in this growing business sector. £598,525 Medway
Norfolk County Council Round 2 This project will boost tourism and the local economy by supporting infrastructure improvements to the England Coast Path Network currently being established by Natural England along the North East Norfolk coast (Cromer to Great Yarmouth). The Council will employ a Community Engagement Officer to support their “Explore More Coast” programme and encourage more walking - based activities including organising regular walking groups; creating out-of-season events/festivals for walkers & cyclists; and developing the “Walkers are Welcome” brand in the region. It will engage business through supported training and identifying opportunities to support rural tourism and carrying out marketing to develop the route as a “Tourism for All” destination. All activities will be directed towards increasing footfall and visitor numbers, supporting sustainable tourism, engaging the community and developing opportunities for business growth during and outside the traditional visitor season. £200,185 North Norfolk
North Tyneside Council Round 2 This project aims to continue the work to regenerate Whitley Bay seafront and contribute to the ongoing restoration of the iconic Spanish City Dome. The project will transform 5 front-facing shop units on the outer Dome into 3 business units, create opportunities for new cafes and retail facilities. A car park will be installed adjacent to the promenade and support increased visitors to the area. £1,125,000 North Tyneside
Northumberland County Council Round 2 The Council's project will improve the economy of Amble on the north east coast through a series of infrastructure works to transform the town into a visitor destination promoting seafood, attracting new visitors and creating jobs. On completion, the project will provide 2 new restaurants, improved facilities incorporating a Harbour Village with retail space, and enhanced access along the shore. This will bring more people to the area, supporting the existing fishing fleet and helping to sustain the community. A Market Co-ordinator will develop the retail space and a Seafood Broker will help the local fishing fleet obtain the best price for their catch. Public realm improvements will see better connection between the harbour and the town square with walking and cycling connections to recognised routes. £1,800,617 Northumberland
Southend on Sea Borough Council Round 2 This project will deliver a series of interlinked capital and activity based projects to enhance and diversify the tourism offer in Southend. The project will create a “Lagoon” at the Three Shells Beach allowing safe access to the water at all times and avoiding tidal limitations; create improved shower and changing facilities at Bell Wharf at Old Leigh to encourage more yacht based visitors to come to the village; set up the Southend Marine Activities Centre offering new Watersports activities; establish and promote a Maritime Festival to bring cultural and economic benefits to the community; delineate safe zones and accommodate the increasingly popular activities of kite-surfing and jet-skiing and set up a Seafront Apprenticeship scheme to provide experience of seafront related tourism activities/management. £1,261,389 Southend-on-Sea
Teignbridge District Council Round 2 This project will create new jobs and promote growth and regeneration in Teignmouth in Devon. The project will create an arts and enterprise centre at the centrally located Carlton Theatre. This will act as a catalyst for further regeneration of the seafront, and the extensive refurbishment will create a multi-use auditorium, 8 work hub spaces, changing rooms/meeting space, café and kitchen, function bar, exhibition gallery and foyer (with Tourist Information presence). The new Pavilion will support the year round tourist economy and is driven by a variety of local stakeholders. £1,798,415 Teignbridge
Warrington Borough Council Round 2 The Council will improve access to a business park near the Sankey Canal and attract new business along the Sankey Canal between Widnes and Warrington parallel to the Mersey Estuary. The site will bring together opportunities for SMEs, leisure and tourism activity, environmental, conservation and heritage opportunities. By restoring the old canal bridge with a new cantilever bridge, the project will improve access to the site for leisure and business purposes thereby sustaining businesses and encouraging further growth and job opportunities. Alongside this an apprenticeship programme will build local skills and promote local employment. £653,708 Halton
Wyre Borough Council Round 2 The Council will support economic growth through a portfolio of projects to increase the appeal of Wyre as a destination and thereby extend the visitor season, increase visitor numbers and expenditure. The project involves developing a chain of attractions along the Fleetwood Coastline with improved linkages to implement the next phase of the Fleetwood Seafront Masterplan. The project will create an Ecology Zone at Rossall complementing the new Rossall Point Observation Tower offering education in ecology and volunteering opportunities; enhance Euston Gardens (within Fleetwood‟s „Lighthouse Quarter‟) with innovative interpretation and art; create a Leisure Hub on a seafront location to support multi-generational play facilities and water attractions at Marina Lake; implement an events programme involving arts, culture, food and drink trading, a unique world record attempt and a large scale community parade/festival; mount a national „Discover Wyre Coast‟ marketing campaign to raise the profile and help businesses take advantage of opportunities that arise from increased visitor numbers. £1,548,242 Wyre
Kingston Upon Hull City Council Round 3 This project will boost the local economy by supporting the continued regeneration of the historic 'Fruit Market' area of Hull. The application supports a wider capital investment programme in advance of the City's status as UK City of Culture in 2017. Wells Maltings Trust Round 3 Wells Maltings Trust (WMT) aims to transform a dilapidated 19th century maltings building in Wells-next-the-Sea in North Norfolk into an arts, heritage and learning space with auditorium, café and tourist information provision. The fully refurbished complex will become a focus for the community; delivering opportunities for employment and learning as well as creating an attractive all year round tourist destination. The capital build element will entail repairing the existing building and construction of a new extension to house income-generating activities including learning and training opportunities, tourism, cultural heritage, creative arts and retail. £610,000 North Norfolk
Park View 4 U Round 3 The project, near Lytham St Annes, will create a new sustainable visitor attraction, offering employment opportunities locally and providing play facilities and environmental education for visitors. It will transform a site in Lytham into a state of the art sand and water play area, with interpretation boards installed to explain the history of the area. The site will be landscaped in a seaside theme and will used to deliver school education and activities about the natural surroundings of the coast. A Beach Hut style refreshments kiosk will be provided for visitors. £395,084 Fylde
Portsmouth City Council Round 3 This project by Portsmouth City Council will revitalise the Victorian Arches at the heart of Point Battery, Old Portsmouth. Located between the historic 15th Century Square and the Round Towers (Portsmouth's historic fortifications), the Arches have been used informally by artists since the 1960s, and, following refurbishment, the "ARTches" project will provide a centrally located "creative hub" with affordable work and exhibition space with leisure and catering facilities, and will support the drive to strengthen Portsmouth's visitor economy, supporting job creation and business growth. £1,755,824 Portsmouth City

Waldringfield Flood Defence Group Round 3 Working in partnership with the Environment Agency, the Waldringfield Flood Defence Group (WFDG) will construct a system of flood defence works that will provide flood protection for businesses and homes in „Flood Cell 10‟ on the River Deben Estuary. Recent tidal surges had a devastating impact on homes and local businesses, impacting on the local economy and local employment opportunities, and the project aims to create and safeguard jobs during two phases of flood defence construction. This project is also being used by the Environment Agency as a pilot scheme to demonstrate the benefits of working in partnership, and they will be sharing their experiences at a local and national level. £633,470 Suffolk Coastal
Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) Round 3 Bempton Cliffs in North Yorkshire is an RSPB nature reserve. The CCF award will enhance its facilities, improve the visitor experience and ultimately create a year-round attraction to further promote wildlife conservation. RSPB‟s project aims to extend and refurbish the coastal nature reserve‟s facilities to attract a further 10,000 visitors per year, increase visitor spend and provide employment and volunteering opportunities for local people. Upgraded facilities will include a reception/exhibition space, improved retail, catering and customer facilities and a multi-purpose space to be used for education, activities, community meetings and events. There will be a new programme of activities and events to attract new audiences to the facilities. Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Round 3 Yorkshire Wildlife Trust (YWT) will address seasonality within the local tourism sector by promoting the area around Spurn Point, East Riding as a destination for nature tourism. The project includes the restoration of the iconic Grade II Listed 'Matthew's Lighthouse' and a nearby gun emplacement on the Point, the creation of a visitor centre with café and facilities, and the development of sustainable transport links to replace those lost in the December 2013 storm surge. Rosehill Arts Trust Round 3 Rosehill Arts Trust will renovate and extend the unique Oliver Messel designed Rosehill Theatre, creating a new contemporary arts centre and restaurant in Moresby near Whitehaven, West Cumbria. Thanet District Council Round 3 Thanet District Council will bring back into economic use, key elements within the iconic but derelict Art Deco Cinema within the Dreamland site in Margate, Kent. This pump-priming will enable long-term use of not just the restaurant but the whole of the cinema complex, bringing the external front façade and original building back to its 1930’s glory. The award will fund the creation of a new „Light and Dark‟ gallery and the construction of a new conference and learning centre, designed to reflect the lighthouse design of the Beacon. Devon County Council Round 3 To turn Dawlish into a destination for walkers and cyclists, linking a safe path between Dawlish town centre and the iconic tourist route of the Exe Estuary Trail. Friends of the Steam Coast Trail Round 3 The Steam Coast Trail project will deliver a new multi-user path from Dunster Beach to Blue Anchor in West Somerset. The development is some 5 km in length and will cater for walkers, cyclists and wheelchair users both powered and non-powered. The development will see a section of the Steam Coast Trail removed from busy roads and become a safer section of the overall path. Hastings Borough Council Round 3 To link 2 coastal locations by developing a seafront route from the De La Warr Pavilion (Bexhill) to the Jerwood Gallery (Hastings) improving the visitor experience by implementing a 3 tier approach incorporating physical improvements, marketing and business and enterprise support. The project will have a unique cycling theme and will also feature an all year round indoor BMX/Skateboard facility close to Hastings pier. There will also be provision of cycle hire along the seafront to link all attractions. All new activities will be marketed through local partnership collaboration to capitalise on other tourism events including the reopening of Hastings Pier and the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings. Lincolnshire County Council Round 3 Lincolnshire County Council through their Lincolnshire Coastal Observatories project seeks to deliver two stunning new visitor centres. The first at the Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve replaces the previous centre severely damaged by flooding and winter storms in 2013. The second, the North Sea Observatory, will be at Chapel St Leonards. Both will provide information to help visitors understand the North Sea marine and coastal environment, coastal processes and rising sea levels. Each building will provide space to observe the sea and nearby environment and birdlife and wildlife therein. Both will have cafe, exhibition and display space and a range other activity will be provided to attract visitors all year round. £1,750,000 East Lindsey
Looe Music Festival Round 3 The project by Looe Music Festival aims to boost the local economy through the development of cultural tourism, addressing seasonality in this rural coastal community in Cornwall. The project will grow the existing volunteer-led annual autumn festival and create a second 'out of season' annual event in the winter time, delivering an extended season for a coastal community that is almost entirely dependent on tourism. Ultimately, it will deliver sustainable, long-term economic benefit for the town through cultural tourism. £149,677 Cornwall
Maldon District Council Round 3 The project will regenerate the coastal tourist economy of the Dengie Peninsula and Maldon coastline by promoting the area as a destination for visitors to enjoy the unique wild coast through a new Coastal Trail. The project will also offer themed coastal events and other recreational opportunities to attract more visitors to the area using the trail to link together attractions and promote the area as a visitor destination. It will also enable the town of Burnham-on-Crouch to become an access point to the RSPB's Wallasea Island Wild Coast Project and a visitor destination in its own right through upgrading the pontoon and public realm in the town. £292,247 Maldon

MV Balmoral Fund Ltd Round 3 The project will use their award to repair and refurbish the historic passenger ship Balmoral, bringing it back into service between May to September each year, with a renewed emphasis on visits to heritage coastline areas and historic piers and ports in England and Wales. MV Balmoral Fund Ltd will also develop a new museum role for the ship together with a new onboard catering and events facility. Restoration of the Balmoral will benefit local businesses, by bringing visitors by sea, and will directly create employment opportunities onboard and onshore. £344,000 City of Bristol
North Norfolk Railway Round 3 North Norfolk Railway will improve their facilities to positively respond to the increasing passenger numbers at their coastal heritage station in Sheringham. At their Weybourne Workshop the project will develop their specialist engineering facilities with a view to maintaining their fleet of steam engines in-house. North Tyneside Round 3 North Tyneside Council will continue the regeneration of Whitley Bay seafront through the final restoration of Grade II listed Spanish City Dome, bringing the building into productive use for commercial and leisure based businesses. Titled, the "Sea Life, See Life" project, it seeks to develop the economy of 5 communities along the coast of the North York Moors. The project will showcase nature, fishing and culinary heritage as well as arts and traditional crafts. Local business will receive support through skills development, workshops, and mentoring. Small scale infrastructure developments including signage and display boards will enhance the visitor experience. Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council Round 3 Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council seeks through their Kirkleatham Catering Academy and Walled Garden project to create a first class Catering Academy through which training can be provided, to include apprenticeships, to local target beneficiary groups resulting in improved employment prospects. The academy will be located in the Pavilion at Kirkleatham attached to which is a Grade II listed walled garden with the latter being restored to similarly develop opportunities for training towards employment in horticulture. It will work with employers to understand their current and upcoming employee skill needs and delivering training, recruitment and job search services within customised, community based hubs. This will be a foundation for economic growth in two communities hit hard by the winter storms of 2013/14. In Westward Ho! this will include- sea wall repairs, beach access, promenade upgrades, a play trail and interpretation and repairs to Rock swimming pool. In Bucks Mills, the programme will replace the slipway and access to the beach destroyed by the storms. Worthing Council Round 3 The project will establish a 'Creative Hub' in Worthing, providing affordable workspace for the creative community and a focus for business support. Learning to Grow Round 1 Based in Ballycarry, Larne, Learn to Grow's two year project will see the development of a water sourcing and bottling resource at the Magheramorne Quarry in the shores of Larne Lough. The project aims to provide carbon neutral water based on sustainable and ethical principles, and to create job and volunteering opportunities. With capital and revenue funding, the 'Glás Water' project will be a partnership project between Learn to Grow and Acceptable Enterprise Larne that will see the creation of direct sustainable jobs and indirect supplier employment. £158,465 Larne
Kilkeel Development Association Limited Round 2 The project will deliver Northern Ireland’s first lobster hatchery which will produce juvenile lobsters for release into the wild to sustain the local lobster population in the longer term. The hatchery will also provide an educational resource through which awareness and understanding of lobsters will be improved. A partnership with Queens University, Belfast will develop a research resource from which better practice husbandry processes will be developed for lobster development. It will become an additional attraction and stop off point for visitors travelling along the scenic Causeway Coastal Route and also for a growing number of canoeists/kayakers exploring the coast for leisure purposes. This project will improve the visitor centre, work with other organisations and communities, and keep up-to-date records of marine life in the area. This will enable the group to provide reliable information to both visitors and eco-tourist providers, and monitor the biodiversity of the area. Transition Black Isle Round 2 Transition Black Isle’s project aims to develop cycle tourism on The Black Isle. Linking with other routes within Cromarty and Easter Ross, the project will publish routes, provide visitor information and signage, improve routes, establish a community enterprise bike hire company and offer guided bike trips of the area to boost cycle-tourism and bring new visitors to the area, particularly in the off-peak season. Fife Coast and Countryside Trust Round 2 Fife Coast and Countryside Trust seeks to improve the Fife Coastal Path through upgrading, re-routing and improvements. The project will restore Pathhead Sands to bathing beach standards and upgrade safety equipment on Fife’s bathing beaches to improve and support the visitor experience. A number of coastal path sections will be improved with some re-routing to avoid use of public roads and to improve safety where significant erosion has impacted the existing path. In support of improvements elements of woodland management and removal of invasive plants and restore natural habitats. The Gunsgreen House Trust Round 2 Gunsgreen House Trust’s project will develop a branded “Smugglers’ Coast” coastal trail, enhancing the existing and popular Berwickshire Coastal Path (between Eyemouth and St Abbs’ Head), providing a variety of interpretation materials and new access points to celebrate the area’s rich history. Cwrw Llyn Cyf Round 2 The two year project aims to develop and expand a micro brewery enterprise in Nefyn, Gwynedd, making it more efficient and able to sustain and increase employment. The capital funding will contribute towards the purchase of a new gas steam kettle to double the companies brewing capacity, and part fund a new van to deliver and market the products over an increased area in north and mid Wales. Keep Wales Tidy Round 2 This two year project aims to further develop the Wales Coastal Path mobile phone App to provide detailed information on the wildlife, history and culture of the coast. Milford Haven Port Authority Round 2 This two year project will promote the maritime heritage of Milford Haven and the Haven waterway through guided and audio tours of the docks and town, interpretative panels and interpretative boat tours. The project will undertake research into the areas maritime history, anecdotes and oral histories of local community residents. Plas Heli Cyf. Round 2 This two year project aims to promote Pwllheli as “Calon Hwylio Cymru – the Heart of Welsh Sailing” and raise the profile of the Llyn as a tourist destination. A new Marketing Manager will be employed to develop a marketing campaign designed to capitalise on the new facility. It will market the venue for a range of international / national sailing events, increase berth uptake with potential customers in the UK and Europe, develop new business activities and out of season opportunities for the local economy. £120,000 Gwynedd
The Anglesey Sea Salt Company Limited Round 2 This two year project will provide a permanent building to house the organisation’s Salt-Cote and Visitor Centre. It will become a sustainable centre for sea salt production and visits. There will be two tours of the site, a basic window demonstration of the facilities and a tour aimed at “foodies” which will take them inside the new salt production facilities. The project will also house toilets which will be open to the public who walk along the Wales Coastal Path. £191,817 Isle of Anglesey
RSPB Cymru Round 3 This two year project will develop the existing visitor facilities at RSPB Cymru South Stack on the west coast of Anglesey to improve the tourism experience. The revenue element of the project will be used for salary costs of three existing visitor centre staff and one new post, along with marketing, overheads and other associated project costs. The capital part of the project will include the purchase of high definition cameras and a CCTV system which will be used to showcase the activities of various bird populations directly into the South Stack visitor centre and to the Ellins Tower information centre. Camera equipment will be installed for the first time on The Skerries, a rocky outcrop to the north east of South Stack, to catch live movements of the Arctic Tern colony. In addition, footpaths to and from the visitor centre that link with the Wales Coastal Path will be upgraded. £267,843 Isle of Anglesey
Porthcawl Harbourside Community Interest Company Round 3 Porthcawl Harbourside's two year 'Coastal Life and Watersports Centre' project will further develop the Marina / Harbour quarter in the area by increasing boat capacity, providing new water sports activity provision as well as education facilities for visitors and locals. The main activities of the project will include the installation of dry racking facilities, the piloting and later launch of the 'Coastal Encounters' programme and local heritage education and recreation packages. Towards the end of the project a boat yard operator and education assistants will be hired to help run the facility, with additional indirect posts being created to help run tourist boat trips and other businesses. The project will benefit 15 local businesses, 8 sustainable direct/indirect jobs and 4 micro business as well as extend the tourism season. £297,597 Bridgend
Meithrinfa Gymraeg Derwen Deg Round 3 The two year project will establish a new full time Welsh language childcare provision in Llandudno Junction on the Conwy coast. In addition to child care services from 8:00am - 6:00pm, the project will also provide breakfast, after school and holiday clubs. Numerous services and activities for children aged 0-11 years are detailed. The project has purchased a 125 year lease on their premises. The building will also be utilised as a community facility after 6:00pm for various additional activities e.g. language lessons, training and community activities through the medium of Welsh. The project will create three full time and two part time jobs in year one, with an additional full time job to meet demand in year two. £283,898 Conwy
Cwm Harry Land Trust Ltd Round 3 This one year project will create a new cafe to serve the Moelyci Environmental Visitor and Education Centre just outside of Tregarth, near Bangor in Gwynedd. Cafe, kitchen equipment and tables and chairs will be purchased to equip the building so as to provide hot and cold refreshments to visitors and locals. The cafe will create one new job and will procure fresh food from local growers and the site. This will help to create four indirect jobs and safeguard one further job. In addition, bilingual signage, signposting and interpretation information will be improved to encourage more tourists to the centre. £75,000 Gwynedd
Cardiff Marine Group Ltd Round 3 The project will make significant improvements to Aberystwyth harbour & marina, upgrading the infrastructure of the marina pontoons and services to provide a destination led and integrated facility. The CCF application is the first stage of a larger three stage project to rejuvenate the harbour facilities, stage one will entail dredging the harbour basin to allow larger boats to moor, upgrade of existing marina pontoons, the addition of new berths (from 80 to 183), provision of improved services (wi-fi, electricity, water), aesthetic/visual improvements to the marinas presentation and provision of full marine services (repairs, engine servicing & boat brokerage). The applicant confirms they expect a split of 80% permanent moorings and 20% visitor moorings based on their other sites occupancy. The project will deliver both direct and indirect job opportunities, provide environmental assistance in relation to flooding and attract a greater volume of visitors to the area. £300,000 Ceredigion
Sustrans Limited Round 3 The two year project will construct a new walking and cycling path, which will link Pembrey to Kidwelly. It will provide direct access into Pembrey Country Park and the Millennium Coastal Path, both key tourism destinations along the Carmarthenshire coast. The path will also link to two existing walking and cycling routes that are popular with tourists and local users. In addition to the 1.6km path, which will be constructed along a disused railway line that runs through the heart of Pembrey, the project will also upgrade and install new signage along 10km of the route between Burry Port and Kidwelly. The route will form part of the Celtic Trail (NCN Route 4). The project, to be delivered in partnership with Carmarthenshire County Council (CCC), will benefit 79 local businesses and receive 50,000 users per year. £299,364 Carmarthenshire
Antur Waunfawr Round 3 Antur Waunfawr‟s 2 year project aims to develop a recently purchased existing business as a social enterprise that will provide bicycle sales, hire, repairs and recycling. The business will offer training and work experience by employing people with learning disabilities and unemployed or disadvantaged young people. The project will link with the Caernarfon Castle World Heritage Site and will provide a range of bicycles for hire including specialist bikes for people with disabilities. A Business Development Officer will be appointed to co-ordinate the development of the business, together with a Cycle Development Officer, 4 trainee/work experience posts and 6 part-time apprenticeships/training posts through Jobs Growth Wales. £238,056 Gwynedd
Becws Islyn Bakery Ltd Round 3 This two year project will develop the small, family-run Becws Islyn Bakery business, enabling them to produce a greater amount of artisan products to maximise sales opportunities with local residents, tourists and local businesses. The revenue element of the project will cover full-time salary costs of an existing Bakery Manager post and two new posts of Assistant Manager and Baker. Capital funding will be used to purchase new bakery equipment, develop second floor rooms into workshops for community baking groups, and a vehicle to widen their distribution networks. £132,000 Gwynedd
Tape Community Music and Film Limited Round 3 This two year project will establish an annual film festival. The festival will take place along the coast of North Wales, in Denbighshire and Conwy. The festival will take place in October each year in order to stimulate increased tourist traffic and spend at a critical time of year to secure enhanced, extended employment and business opportunities. The project will work in partnership with local organisations to use existing community arts hubs. The revenue element of this project will cover the part time salary costs of a project manager, 2 festival workers, 4 film project workers and a heritage project lead. The capital budget will cover equipment including a PA system, projectors and screens, generator, seating, laptop and gazebos. £224,304 Conwy
Groundwork North Wales Round 3 This two year project involves the purchase of a purpose built sales tricycle and recruiting and training persons to operate it along a section of the North Wales Coastal Path, providing tourist information, basic first aid and hot drinks and other refreshments to walkers and cyclists using the path. The revenue elements of the project will cover full time salary costs of one FTE Project Officer who will operate the tricycle. Capital funding will be used to purchase the tricycle. The tricycle will be equipped with a battery which will heat the water (partially recharged by a solar panel) and storage space for cups, powdered drinks, sugar and milk. Machines are equipped with a builtin water tank, on-board waste tank, sink unit and storage area. Customers will be charged an extra amount per cup on a deposit basis, refundable when the cup is returned to the vendor. This is to reduce the likelihood of rubbish being abandoned on the path and to encourage other walkers to collect any cups they see dumped to reclaim the deposit. £54,615 Conwy
Chapel Bay Fort & Museum Round 3 The two year project, based in Angle on the Pembrokeshire coast will provide improved access and support a larger overall project of restoring a unique Ancient Scheduled Monument. The site will be opening to the public as a Museum and interpretation centre for the military and social history of Pembrokeshire. The capital grant will enable widening the entrance from the road, grading and surfacing the access road, creating passing spaces and a hard stand parking area. Full year-round public access will ensure the economic viability and sustainability of the enterprise and its contribution to the local economy, through increased tourism and the creation of direct and indirect jobs. The project will create three FTE construction jobs in 2015, with up to six FTE jobs in the cafe, museum and maintenance of the site by December 2016. £270,626 Pembrokeshire
Vale of Glamorgan Council Round 3 Vale of Glamorgan County Council's "Maximising the employment potential of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast‟ project will encourage the development of new businesses along the Heritage Coast. This will be achieved through a number of activities including the employment of a full time specialist Glamorgan Heritage Coast Activities Development Officer, the creation of business storage units for off and on shore activities, the replacement of the slipway at Dunraven Bay and the placement of interpretative units. By creating this new infrastructure, new businesses will be able to locate on Dunraven Bay and the Heritage Coast will benefit from increased awareness and exposure. The Vale Of Glamorgan County Council will also use funds, such as £40,000 from the Local Development Strategy, to test the feasibility of new activities along the coast with pilots. £224,760 The Vale of Glamorgan
Menter Aberteifi Cyfyngedig Round 3 Menter Aberteifi Cyf‟s 2 year project will re-establish and develop Cardigan Market Hall as a sustainable business hub for market traders and micro-enterprises The aim of the project is to aid the development of new businesses and safeguard a cluster of 18 existing micro-businesses. The Market Hall will be will managed and promoted to create a vibrant hub for local traders and producers, creating a sense of place and increasing footfall throughout the own centre. The project will provide training and networking opportunities for producers and test trading opportunities for business students and young entrepreneurs. The applicant has entered into a 3 year management agreement with Ceredigion County Council who own and previously managed the Market Hall. The project will create 3 new part-time posts of Facility Manager with responsibility for business development, marketing and events management, a part-time Administrator and a part-time Caretaker. £109,974 Ceredigion
Vale of Rheidol Round 3 The project will provide high quality heritage skills training within the working environment of the Vale of Rheidol Heritage Railway. This will fully equip their workshop with all the necessary engineering equipment to create a suitable working environment to start the process of training new apprentices. With the addition of two new engineers and four apprentices the railway will develop a sustainable engineering future with the apprentices learning on the job from skilled craftsmen and also achieving qualifications through attending college. By building a strong engineering team the railway will also make itself less reliant on seasonal streams of income and on subcontracted companies whose prices are increasing dramatically due to the small pool of engineers and expertise available. £288,000 Ceredigion
Cyngor Tref Nefyn Round 3 Nefyn Town Council‟s two year project will improve a section of the Wales Coast Path between Nefyn and Morfa Nefyn to make the coast path accessible to people with disabilities including wheelchair users and young families. It will also improve and re-open sections of an historic 10 mile route, Llwybr y Morwyr (The Sailor‟s Path) from Nefyn to Llanbedrog, creating a new waymarked route between the north and south coasts of the Llŷn Peninsular. The capital element of the project over one year will include resurfacing of the coastal footpath from Nefyn to Morfa Nefyn and work on Llwybr y Morwyr including clearing overgrown sections of the public rights of way, fencing, boardwalks and installation of sleeper bridges, stiles and gates. A full-time Coordinator will be employed to project manage the capital work and promote and market the new walking routes and the history and culture of the area. The project will also link with the community bus service "O Ddrws i Ddrws‟ to provide pick-up and drop-off services for walkers along the route. £300,000 Gwynedd
Ceredigion County Council Round 3 The project will raise the profile of the Ceredigion coastline as a place to visit throughout the year. Taking two parts the first element will focus on enhancing the Ceredigion section of the Wales Coastal Path, through improvements to signage, interpretation work and minor improvement works along the route. Additionally specialist beach head visitor signage will be used to enhance and contribute to the blue flag status of Ceredigion‟s beaches. The second element of the project will be to employ a Business Development Officer (BDO) to improve the economic performance of coastal communities and the businesses therein. The BDO will work intensively with micro businesses along the Ceredigion coastline both on a 1 to 1 and group basis, identifying trends, signposting services, developing online presence amongst many services offered. Not only will the BDO work with businesses, but communities to promote all aspects and facilities of coastal areas to develop a coherent approach that will be both innovative and sustainable. £150,718 Ceredigion
Bluestone Brewing Company Limited Round 3 Bluestone Brewing's one year project will adapt existing buildings to provide a visitor facility, complimentary office and bottle storage facilities. This will help the company to facilitate sales and provide a wet weather facility within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. It will appeal to tourists and locals with educational and informative displays covering the brewing process, local history and championing the environmental aspects of the small brewery. The building will also showcase a local product to visiting overseas importers / agents and will be able to facilitate commercial meetings with consultants and other parties. As part of this expansionary activity, although not funded by this grant, the group will also take on an additional brewer which will allow one of the directors to move from brewing to sales management and market expansionary activity. £80,746 Pembrokeshire
Fishguard & Goodwick Chamber of Trade and Tourism Round 3 The project will promote and establish North Pembrokeshire as a visitor destination through the development and coordination of the tourism product. By making better use of existing facilities and accompanying them with new events and promotions the applicant will galvanise local businesses and attractions and provide a more cohesive approach to “selling” North Pembrokeshire. Both Stena (Ferries) and Arriva Trains plan to offer targeted marketing and discount packages to tie in with the events calendar to make visiting a more attractive (and cheaper) proposition. The centre will be hand built, crafted from natural materials and will house digital and state of the art visitor interpretation, exhibition facilities and workshop space for local crafts people. The revenue element of the project will cover the salary costs of a Project Manager, Administrator and overheads. Cardigan Bay Watersports Round 3 The project will expand the community development / regeneration project which was founded in 2003, by the provision of new products / activities, upgraded equipment and professional management. The grant funding would go towards: • A mixed fleet of sailing dinghies, some singled handed some double handed to meet the needs of participants aged 16 and older; • Upgrade safety cover boats to meet safety cover ratios specified by the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) and to meet insurance company requirements; • To “Pump prime” (i) Business Development Manager and provide a marketing budget ii) Senior Seasonal Instructor and an additional multi activity instructor (iii) two trainee positions to expand the resource of qualified staff. • Purchase equipment to introduce new activities (waterskiing, wakeboarding, kayak tours) and train the staff to deliver these. £123,974 Ceredigion
Cygnor Gwynedd Round 3 Cyngor Gwynedd‟s two year project will develop 13 identified linear or circular routes which link communities to the Wales Coast Path. The aim of the project is to maximise the economic benefit from the Wales Coast Path in five coastal areas of Gwynedd, namely Bangor, Clynnog Fawr, Porthmadog, Barmouth and Aberdyfi. The project will upgrade existing public rights of way and provide improved visitor information by redeveloping the Snowdonia Mountains and Coast website and production of interpretation materials for walkers. It will also work with existing community transport provider "O Ddrws i Ddrws‟ in the Llŷn area to co-ordinate an on demand pick-up and drop-off bus service for walkers. The project will employ a new Marketing Coordinator. The grant request also includes funding for 10 hours a week for the Wales Coast Path Officer and 19 hours a week for the Coastal Warden post.
