St Austell

South West

St Austell Bay is on the south coast of Cornwall; an area which offers “Something for Everyone”. It is the home of the Eden Project and the China Clay industry with a unique landscape and opportunities to develop its natural, cultural and industrial heritage in a variety of ways.

The focal point for the Bay is St Austell town, the largest town in Cornwall with an improving retail centre, and also home to the award winning St Austell Brewery. Wooded hills around the town drop down into secluded coves and golden beaches. This is a haven for watersports, as well as commerce which makes the most of clear, clean water in small ports including Par and the World Heritage Site at Charlestown.

The business community is engaged with partners across the area, including Cornwall Council, town and parish councils and Cornwall College, with an aspiration for the area to achieve its best potential. With a huge variety of assets, including the St Blazey Roundhouse and turntable and St Austell Markethouse, there are exciting opportunities ahead. The area needs to market itself more effectively and is developing an innovative website to achieve this.
