Adur

South East

Adur district, in South East England, sits on the south coast between Worthing and Brighton. Adur places modern industry such as Shoreham Port and engineering innovators, Ricardo, against the rural backdrop of South Downs National Park.  Featuring six miles of shingle shoreline Adur includes the local towns of Shoreham by Sea and Southwick and the parishes of Lancing and Sompting.

The Adur Coastal Community Team is made up of representatives from the cultural community, local commerce, retail, industry and local government. Members include individuals from Brighton City Airport and Shoreham Port, Ropetackle Art Centre, Skyway Gallery, Shoreham All Stars, Southwick Square Traders Association and the Adur & Worthing Chamber of Commerce. Adur District Council supports the Adur Coastal Community Team as the accountable body.

The purpose of the Adur Coastal Community Team is to support, facilitate and promote a cohesive, district wide, cultural economy offer.  It provides a structure and mechanism through which projects are undertaken to increase cultural activity within leisure and events and improve place marketing and communication. Particular emphasis is given to projects which encourage partnership working between retail, industry and the cultural economy.
