We are building a Coastal Communities Team that focuses on the twin resorts of Roker and Seaburn in Sunderland, a city by the sea which has transformed itself following the decline of traditional industries in recent decades.
Our attractive and award-winning seafront, with its sandy beaches, parks, piers and attractions is already Sunderland’s main venue for events. Millions of visitors are attracted each year by Sunderland International Airshow, Sunderland Illuminations, national boating competitions and more, plus The Tall Ships Races 2018 to look forward to.
Local traders, community groups, tourist attractions and residents are working in partnership with the local authority to continue to develop our seafront, turning it into a stronger, more vibrant and sustainable economy, attracting more visitors, spend and jobs.
