Newquay

South West

Newquay, on the North Coast of Cornwall is one of the UK’s favourite seaside resorts. Also known as the Surf Capital of the UK, it’s a mecca for water sports and the outdoor lifestyle. The beaches are within walking distance to the town centre and there are seven to choose from. The historic working harbour today exports spider crab all over Europe and there are plenty of places to try this delicacy locally too. As well as beaches there is a good mix of shops on the high street, a zoo, aquarium, tennis centre, cinema and gardens, all within a short walking distance to the town centre. Recently Newquay has benefitted from inward investment and there is an exciting selection of eateries popping across the town, capturing the al fresco dining in its entirety with the beautiful sunsets.

The Coastal Town Team partnership was formed by Newquay BID together with Cornwall Council, Newquay Town Council, Newquay Harbour Masters, Newquay Marine Group, Newquay Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, Newquay Tourism Information Centre and Newquay Heritage CIC to increase the vitality of Newquay through improving the experience of the town centre as a place to live, work and visit. Alongside the partners, the BID is driving this project in line with its brand new business plan to increase visitor’s numbers and encourage further inward investment.
