Chapel St.Leonards Boathouse and Coastal Lookouts

Scheme to deliver :- a new iconic building on the seafront at Chapel St Leonards ; a series of lookouts/hides at sites north of Chapel to complement the Coastal Country Park proposals ; improvements to access and information for the public at the coastal sites where the lookouts are being installed.

The main building at Chapel St Leonards will contain a cafe, public library, art gallery, community space, RNLI station and Coastwatch lookout. The building and the other new lookouts will build upon the success of the architectural innovation used in the coastal Bathing Beauties project.

Southern Foreshore Skegness

 The potential redevelopment of the Southern Foreshore site, which measures approximately 15 hectares, could provide up to £75million of new, private sector-led investment in the town.   A preferred development partner will be appointed through a two-stage design competition by September 2009.  The first phase of works is expected to be completed by April 2013.

Following the successful completion of X-Site Skate Park’s Outdoor Plaza, East Lindsey residents are being invited to a consultation day on the 17th January to have their say on plans for the next phase of the Park’s development.

The Lincolnshire Extreme Sports Association (LESA), which was formed in October 2000, sees the East Coast of Lincolnshire as the ideal home for Extreme Sports and thus created X-Site Skate Park, with the indoor centre completed in March 2006 and the outdoor skate plaza completed in April 2007.  The Park, which consists of rails, ramps and roll-ins is available to skateboarders, rollerbladers and BMX-riders.
