How can we enterprise the coast

Following a day of debate upon the opportinities, barriers and future for enterprise on the coast delegates identified seven positive actions that would be developed from the days discussions

  • Coastal towns to debate the "touch down" table in the "What makes an Enterprising Economy" presentation from the University of Lincoln to assess their current position and their future direction
  • A link to be made to the "Seasider" programme a 5 year programme to promote the seaside to inner cities www.seasider.co.uk
  • Coastal authorities to debate/join an RDPE cooperation project to look to add value to the Business Link offer - patrick.browne@lincolnshire.gov.uk
  • CCA Members to submit comments to the CCA for a joint response on the Government White Paper
  • CCA Members to submit examples of best practice intitiatives to the website for dissemination
  • CCA Members to debate the role and input from Emergency Planning in view of climate change
  • Members to contact nicola.radford@lincolnshire.gov.uk if they are interested in being involved in the DEFRA coastal pathfinder scheme/research on business attitudes to the coast
  • CCA will lead the debate on "Resorts as Service Centres - an opportunity"
