Lincolnshire County Council have been awarded ERDF funding for a project called Online Revolution - a 30 month programme which runs until December 2013. The programme aims to improve digital exclusion through both supply demand measures. Activities will include the piloting of broadband solutions in rural locations, creation of digital business clusters, a ‘wired’ events programme, digital solutions to support the visitor economy and, this particular stream of work – the creation of 5 Coastal Arts and Technology hubs in East Lindsey – at Louth, Alford, Mablethorpe, Skegness and Huttoft.
LCC recently appointed Kind of Digital (KOD), a Spalding based digital consultancy, to help us set up these hubs. They will assist us to identify, install and facilitate the use of appropriate digital technology in each of the hubs. One of the key performance criteria is for the hubs to reach out to and support local SMEs (small and medium size enterprises). Support may be in the form of attending an event or training or receiving 1 to 1 support. This stream of work is targeted with providing at least 12 hours of support to 190 SMEs
This is an exciting new initiative and if you would like to find out more details please contact
